The MSc International Management covers the full range of key management disciplines such as strategy, marketing, risk, accounting, organisational effectiveness and managing resources and operations. Electives offer the prospect of exploring broader number of management subjects. Within the taught programme there is an experientially practical component which is held off campus, giving students an opportunity to develop team and leadership skills. Past students have found positions with companies such as IBM UK, Siemens, L’Oreal, Santander and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

On successful completion of the taught part of the International Management MSc, students work over a three month period on topics of a practical or applied nature. This dissertation phase provides the opportunity to explore management issues in depth. It also allows students to put into practice much of the theory of management discussed during the programme.

Programme structure

Full-time study on this International Management masters degree course follows a schedule of half-day teaching blocks. A single module, for example, will be taught over six half-days, usually the same half-day each week e.g. six consecutive Monday mornings and half modules are taught over three half-days. Module teaching blocks will be scheduled on different half-days so that students will study several modules during the same period .

Teaching takes place during the autumn, spring and summer terms with a few modules scheduled for evenings and the Easter vacation. These will usually be the optional modules but this is not guaranteed. Formal examinations take place in January and May/June each year at the end of each semester. If you pass the module assessments to a satisfactory standard you are permitted to continue work until September leading to the submission of an MSc dissertation.
