This dynamic mix of academic and practical study gives you theoretical insight and hands-on experience.

Through lectures, seminars, workshops and research exercises, the course explores a range of issues related to the media and its relationship with political and public institutions in regional, national and international contexts.

You’ll gain hands-on experience of the communication of politics and an insight into the workings of political journalism. This course is great grounding for a career in public relations, political organisations, governmental and non-governmental bodies.

On a three-day field trip to London, you’ll visit national news organisations for briefings on current developments with senior editors and meeting politicians and political journalists.

Our guest lecturers come from the media industries, regulators, campaigning groups and research institutes.
