Our MRes Translation Studies programme will allow you to pursue your passion for languages and communication, feed your fascination for the way words work, and open doors to further study and a range of fulfilling and exciting career opportunities.

This unique and innovative programme is the first of its kind in the UK, providing in-depth systematic research training and targeted preparation for undertaking a PhD in the discipline of languages and translation.

The need for a new generation of highly skilled translation researchers is forever growing. Our programme will provide you with the skills and expertise necessary to meet this demand, and excel in your work as the translation industry moves into the future.

As a student on this programme, you will have access to our world-class Centre for Translation Studies, which is internationally recognised as a centre for high-quality research and teaching. A range of optional modules will enable you to specialise in your individual area of interest, shaping your degree to your aspirations.
